& Over-clocking information Over-Clocking: Users accept all risks in over-clocking the system either by jumpers or through the "CPU Host Clock" selection in the CMOS BIOS. No technical support or RMA service is provided if the board is overclocked. |
When the "CPU Host Clock" selection in the CMOS BIOS is left at "default", the CPU clock speed is determined by the bus speed (set up by the jumpers setting) multiply by the CPU frequency ratio.
CPU Bus Clock X CPU Frequency Ratio = CPU FrequencyThe CPU Frequency Ratio is provided automatically. No external hardware jumper is necessary. If the jumpers are set for the "Auto Detect," the correct bus speed and thus CPU clock speed will be automatically detected and deployed.
| BUS CLK | JS1 | JS2 | JS3 | JN1 | JN2 | AGP Clock | PCI Clock | ISA Clock |
| 66Mhz | Short | open | short | 1-2 | 2-3 | x 1 | x 1/2 | x 1/8 |
| 100Mhz | open | open | short | 1-2 | 2-3 | x 2/3 | x 1/3 | x 1/12 |
| 133Mhz | open | open | open | 2-3 | 2-3 | x 1/2 | x 1/4 | x 1/16 |
| Auto CPU Detect | open | short | short | 2-3 | 2-3 | see above | see above | see above |
The above table indicates the relationship of the AGP, PCI, and ISA clocks in reference to the Bus Clock. When you go into the CMOS and change the "CPU Host Clock" selection in the CMOS BIOS from the standard "default" to a Bus Clock speed that is higher than what the CPU is designated for, you are effectively over-clocking the system. Over-clocking or not, these relationships depicted in the table do not change. For example, a system jumpered for 100Mhz and is pushed to 133Mhz on CMOS has the AGP clock speed of 88.7Mhz (133Mhz x 2/3).
Therefore, when you are over-clocking the system, you are not only over-clocking the CPU, you are over-clocking the AGP, PCI, and ISA clocks as well. Your system may not function well if any part in your system can not handle the increased speed. Over clocking may also result in component damage and will automatically void your warranty. You are basically taking all risk when you over-clock the system.
Please do not submit any technical support question regarding over-clocking
issues or request RMA due to damage by overclocking. Users
accept all risks in over-clocking the system.
